A beautiful region of the UK has been named as one of the world’s most welcoming places in new research from Booking.com .
The hotel booking giant looked at more than 300 million customer reviews to find the friendliest and most welcoming places in the world.
A British destination topped the list as the world’s most welcoming region based on positive customer reviews.
Perthshire in Scotland is one of the world’s most welcoming places and might be the perfect destination for a staycation in 2024.
Known as ‘Big Tree County’, the Scottish region has more than 200,000 acres of woodland and is an ideal holiday hotspot for adventure lovers.
According to Visit Scotland, Kinnoull Hill Woodland Park is the region’s best attraction. It was Scotland’s first woodland park when it opened in the 1990s.
History fans will want to check out The Black Watch Museum, which explores the past of Scotland’s oldest Highland Regiment.
At nearby Scone Palace, tourists can see examples of Mary Queen of Scots’ needlework and see where Queen Victoria entertained guests.
Meanwhile, the Fair Maid’s House is one of Perthshire’s oldest buildings and is now home to the Royal Scottish Geographical Society’s visitor centre.
