Jet2 has issued a warning for British travellers on its website following disruption caused by Storm Isha.
An airline spokesperson said: “We are aware that throughout Monday, January 22, there will be various yellow and amber alerts in place at various times across parts of the UK due to the adverse effects of Storm Isha.
“Due to the forecasted high winds and rain forecast throughout the day, customers travelling with us from the UK are advised to allow extra time to get to the airport and check with any transport suppliers you are relying on to get you to the airport for any disruption they may be facing.”
The holiday company said it currently planned to operate all flights on time and said it would communicate with passengers via text and email.
It added: “Whilst we hope the weather conditions anticipated will not cause much disruption to our flying programme, we apologise in advance for any disruption that is beyond our control.”
Passengers are advised to leave extra time to travel to the airport and check the airline’s page for updates.
Storm Isha hit the UK with 99 mph winds causing damage to homes, falling trees and power cuts.
Flights from Belfast were cancelled yesterday while several UK airports were hit by disruption.
Ryanair also issued a warning for passengers of potential disruption to and from the UK on Monday, January 22.
British Airways said it had had to make adjustments due to adverse weather conditions across the UK and Europe caused by the storm.
A yellow warning for wind remains in place across the whole of the UK today until midday while gusts could reach 80mph in coastal areas.
