WW3 warning as AI makes chilling prediction millions could be killed | World | News

An AI (Artificial Intelligence) programme has made a chilling prediction that millions could be killed if World War 3 breaks out.

ChatGPT made the claims along with eight horrendous scenarios that could force nations around the world to start a third world war.

The predictions were made after The Sun asked the advanced computer programme about what could lead to the first global war since 1939.

The programme said: “In a hypothetical scenario, World War 3 could be triggered by a combination of complex geopolitical, economic, and social factors.”

According to the publication, ChatGPT warned a third world war could start because of a combination of nationalism, populism, territorial disputes, failed diplomacy, an arms race, and proxy wars.

All of these factors could lead to millions being killed by the outbreak of a war that would be the first major war between East and West which featured nuclear weapons in their arsenals.

The threat of WW3 increased in the UK when it was announced that Joe Biden could move American nuclear weapons to RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk. The Telegraph said a report stated there was a “nuclear mission” that would take place “imminently at RAF Lakenheath”.

In a statement following the reports, a Ministry of Defence spokesperson said: “It remains a longstanding UK and NATO policy to neither confirm nor deny the presence of nuclear weapons at a given location.”

Fears of a new nuclear war have been rising gradually in recent years. Earlier this week the Doomsday Clock announced it was 90 seconds to midnight, the closest it has ever been.

The Bulletin of Atomic Scientists, who make the annual prediction, warned that action it recommended last year had not been acted on.

Alex Glaser said: “Today’s clock setting was still overshadowed by the war in Ukraine. But also the war in Gaza, which has caused enormous human suffering and could lead to a broader conflict in the region involving several nuclear states and regional powers.

“So it is against this backdrop that we are facing a crisis in nuclear arms control, and I could go into great detail, but let me highlight perhaps two aspects. China is increasing its nuclear arsenal, standing at 500 nuclear weapons.”

Glaser added: “For the first time in my adult life, there is talk in Washington that the US nuclear arsenal will have to increase to match the arsenals of Russia and China combined. So in many ways we are setting ourselves up for a three-way arms race which is unprecedented…so the picture is quite bleak.”
