Beautiful Commonwealth country has the world’s most photographed beach | Travel News | Travel

Commonwealth Day is a celebration of the 56 countries across Africa, Asia, the Americas, Europe and the Pacific that make up the Commonwealth.

From Australia to Mauritius, many of the Commonwealth members are leading holiday destinations.

One of the group’s smallest countries is even home to the world’s most photographed beach. The Seychelles is Africa’s smallest country but its 115 islands have plenty to entertain tourists.

Anse Source D’Argent on La Digue island in the Seychelles is thought to be the world’s most photographed beach.

Its name means ‘Source of Money’ and it’s not hard to believe that buried treasure might be concealed among its beauty.

A glimpse of paradise, the beach’s white sand and clear waters are backed by striking granite boulders and palm trees.

One tourist described the beach as “breathtakingly beautiful” while another said it was an “unforgettable experience”.

Anse Source D’Argent is perhaps best admired from the water and tourists can take a crystal clear kayak tour for the prettiest views.

The clear kayak allows people to see the coral beneath them as they paddle around the beautiful bay.

The Seychelles also has another award-winning beach. Anse Lazio on Praslin Island was named the sixth most beautiful beach in the world by Tripadvisor.

Backed by lush greenery and rock formations, Anse Lazio’s white sand and clear waters might make it hard to leave the island.
