Blow to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after ‘poisoned chalice’ warning | Royal | News
Meghan Markle has reportedly hired a UK-based PR executive to “restore her popularity” but the supposed act has raised a fresh warning from a royal commentator who believes it is a “long road back” for the Duchess of Sussex.
Speaking to Talk TV hosts, expert Rupert Bell explained: “I’m sure she’s pretty difficult to work for. So therefore, a PR executive could take what I perceive to be a bit of a poisoned chalice.”
To which host Alex Phillips responded: “Meghan’s solution to everything is hiring some sort of big shiny exec so she can smile at the camera or hug a child.”
Meghan’s last visit to the country was during the State Funeral of the late Queen Elizabeth II in 2022 and in 2023, the Duchess of Sussex avoided returning to the UK. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex relocated to the United States in 2020, shortly after announcing their decision to step back as senior members of the Royal Family.
It has been suggested Prince Harry who is set to return to the UK in May to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games may bring his family along with him. Rupert added: “I think it’s going to be a long road back to get the British public behind her [Meghan Markle] again. She needs people on the ground to try and help steer the public around once again.”
The royal correspondent added” “it’s hard” for PR teams to do their job because they get decisions “overwritten” by Meghan.
