Europe’s mega-project to build new 786-mile motorway through six countries | World | News

In a groundbreaking initiative, Bulgarian company Large Infrastructure Projects has announced the ambitious ABC+De project, a colossal endeavour aimed at constructing a 786-mile motorway connecting five EU countries and Turkey.

The project, spanning Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, Hungary, Slovakia, and Turkey, seeks to revolutionise travel between the North Eastern and South Eastern regions of Europe, making the journey from the Baltic region to the Aegean Sea seamless and efficient.

Currently, traversing this direct trajectory is a formidable challenge, given the scarcity, non-existence, or lack of connectivity of motorways in the region. As a result, the existing routes force travellers to navigate through Central Europe, leading to a time-consuming and tedious journey.

The ABC+De project seeks to eliminate these hurdles, creating a direct and well-connected motorway network.

Large Infrastructure Projects envisions a future where driving from the Baltic region to the Aegean Sea becomes an everyday reality, facilitating smoother cross-border travel and promoting economic integration among the participating countries.

The motorway will not only enhance regional connectivity but also bolster trade, tourism, and cultural exchanges.

The six countries involved in the project will see significant infrastructural development as a result of this mega-project.

The motorway is expected to bring economic benefits to the participating nations, creating jobs, fostering tourism, and facilitating the movement of goods across borders.

The ABC+De project has garnered support from the governments of the involved countries, recognising the potential for economic growth and increased regional cooperation.

The motorway is set to traverse diverse landscapes, providing breathtaking views and contributing to the overall tourism appeal of the region.
