POLL: Should Meghan Markle join Prince Harry on next UK visit? | Royal | News

Prince Harry could be back on home shores sooner than expected for a service to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, which he founded in 2014.

As early as May, in two months time, he is expected to travel back for the anniversary celebrations at St Paul’s Cathedral, giving him another opportunity to possibly patch things up with his family.

It comes as the UK government have announced a multi-million-pound bid to see the Games hosted in Birmingham in 2027, a scheme supported by the Ministry of Defence and the Royal British Legion.

Meghan Markle could also make a sensational UK return and join her husband to mark the occasion, but she has not set foot in Britain since the late Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in September 2022 and numerous reports have emerged that Meghan vowed she would “never step foot in England again”.

It comes as the Duke of Sussex rushed to the UK after learning his father King Charles had been diagnosed with cancer.

On his return, in a very public interview, he spoke to TV channel Good Morning America and said: “I think any illness, any sickness brings families together.”

Amid the speculation about the upcoming visit, an insider told OK! Magazine: “Harry is very keen for his entire family to join him. It’s important for him that they show a united front and focus on building bridges with the rest of the royal family.”

They added: “The move to bring the Invictus Games back to Britain is seen as an opportunity for Harry and he is very keen to take it. He is adamant that he wants Meghan and the children to join him, but I think she may be apprehensive and I think she finds being in the UK very uncomfortable.”

Even in Omid Scobie’s book Endgame, it was alleged that Meghan “never really felt at home” in the UK, and “never wants to step foot in England again”.

Prince Harry was hoping for a legal win against the UK Home Office for security protection during his visits to the UK, but suffered a defeat this week.

Harry is to seek to appeal against the latest ruling, with his lawyers saying he “hopes he will obtain justice”.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had their security removed when they stepped down as working members of the Royal Family and moved to the US back in 2020.
