Six Nations LIVE: Wales get England revenge as Scotland stars ‘out for the season’ | Rugby | Sport

Ireland rugby icon Ollie Campbell has told his compatriots to enjoy their current success under Andy Farrell after remembering difficult times in the past.

The Irish are on course for back-to-back Grand Slams at the Six Nations and victory in Twickenham would go a long way to securing that achievement, but marks a stark contrast from previous Ireland teams.

“These are heady days. We have won 39 out of the last 41 home games including the last 18 in a row. It is staggering,” Campbell told the Belfast Telegraph.

“Nobody in my generation in Ireland would ever have imagined the profile rugby has now or the consistency of success.

“We have two difficult games ahead in England away and Scotland at home but if we win back-to-back Grand Slams in the Six Nations for the first time, it will be a fantastic achievement.

“These are heady days and we should enjoy them while they last because they won’t necessarily go on forever, though at the moment there is no end in sight.”
