To celebrate International Women Day’s, Express.co.uk is looking at some of the world’s safest cities for solo women travellers. 

InsureMyTrip has rounded up some of the world’s best destinations to explore alone by looking at several key safety factors. 

The team looked at gender equality in each destination, how safe people felt walking alone at night as well as the daily travel costs and number of things to do. 

Luckily for British tourists, they won’t have to travel far to explore as many of the winning destinations are in Europe.
