Joker 2 trailer release time announced with Joaquin Phoenix first look footage | Films | Entertainment
Today at Las Vegas’ CinemaCon, Warner Bros Pictures will give a special presentation of the studio’s upcoming movie slate.
As already teased by director Todd Phillips, the first trailer for Joker 2 aka Joker: Folie à Deux will debut there before heading online.
And now the release time for YouTube and social media has been announced, with the first look footage of Joaquin Phoenix reprising his Oscar-winning role as Arthur Fleck.
The star is captured laughing and crying in pouring rain with a barbed wire fence nearby.
Our best guess is that he’s interred at Gotham’s Arkham Asylum for the criminally insane, having ended up here after his brief uprising and murdering of Robert De Niro’s TV host in the original movie.
Lady Gaga joins Phoenix in the sequel as Harley Quinn, who Batman fans will remember starts off as psychologist Dr Harleen Quinzel before being turned to villainy by her patient the Joker.
The new post by Warner Bros teased: “Trailer Tonight. 6:30pm PT.” For UK fans that will be 2:30am BST tomorrow morning.
Joker: Folie à Deux hits cinemas on October 4, 2024.
