Meanwhile, Joe Biden is urging Netanyahu to show restraint as the US seeks to stamp down fears of a wider regional conflict amid the ongoing Israel–Hamas war in Gaza that has left nearly 34,000 Palestinians dead, according to health authorities in the region.

A senior White House told Axios that Biden said to Netanyahu: “You got a win. Take the win,” referring to Israel‘s sucessful strike on Damascus.

The US and UK were among the countries helping Israel to take down Iran’s drones and missiles.
