Prince William surprised the Firm when he decided against following in his father’s footsteps and chose to attend the University of St Andrews over the traditional Oxbridge route.

Podcast host, Roberta Fiorito, said William did so because he wanted as much privacy and “peace and quiet” as possible.

William started a four-year art history course in the autumn of 2001 but he later switched to geography, graduating in 2005 with a 2:1. Kate, Princess of Wales, also studied history of art and also graduated with a 2:1 in 2005.
