UK hot weather: Full list of regions that will be blasted by 72-hour African plume | Weather | News

Several parts of the UK will bask in glorious 20C as the latest have turned dark red indicating soaring temperatures across the regions within days.

from WXCharts show an African plume will blast the UK for almost 72 hours, bringing in much respite from the wet and windy weather conditions.

The latest show that weather conditions are set to shift as soon as 6 pm on Thursday as temperature levels begin to rise.

By Friday evening, the southern areas of the UK will see mercury levels rising to 19-20C, suggest.

The temperature shift comes days after the UK was battered by that left many parts of the country drenched in rain.

According to the meteorologist from Netweather.tv, Saturday could see up to 20C for southeastern Britain before a fresher airmass arrives for Sunday.

Areas such as London, Southampton, and Birmingham could see temperatures going up to 20C, maps show.

Jo Farrow, a weather expert from Netweather.tv wrote in her weather blog: “Glasgow will be around 11C this weekend but Cambridge could reach 19C on Saturday.

“For Saturday morning there will be bands of rain, with showers to the north and brighter conditions. To the south, there will be more cloud with damp weather for the coasts of western Wales and NW England.

“Where breaks in the cloud appear, it will be bright, even sunny and warm but the onshore flow could keep things rather grey in the west.

“During Saturday afternoon there will be sharp showers for Northern Ireland and Scotland, and by evening into northern England.”

The expert added: “They will be mixed with sunny spells but also the risk of hail and thunder and by Sunday morning, sleet and snow over the Scottish mountains. For many Sunday will start fine, bright but feeling fresher.

“The showers get going through the day with a rash developing for Northern Ireland and Scotland, although the northeast looks more sheltered. Elsewhere they are lighter and more scattered with a fair day for many.”

This Evening and Tonight:

A band of heavy rain in the northwest will spread southeast across all areas overnight, gradually weakening. Cloudy ahead of it, with light drizzle and hill fog on highest points. Staying windy but clearer spells developing in the north.

Thursday:

Southernmost areas will have a rather cloudy day with the odd spot of rain. Elsewhere skies will brighten to give sunny spells. Winds slowly easing. Feeling warm in the sunshine.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Friday and Saturday look windy in the north and west with showery rain. Brighter and breezy elsewhere. Bright on Sunday, but blustery showers in the north and west. Turning fresher.
