Ukraine soldiers caught on video ‘walking up to Russian tank before stealing vehicle’ | World | News

Ukraine has claimed a group of its soldiers walked up to a Russian tank after repelling an assault and simply drove off with it.

The 12th Azov Assault Brigade shared footage of the incident on X, formerly known as Twitter, alleging Russian Army forces fled the scene and left the tank behind alongside other equipment near the town of Terny, in the Donetsk region.

The video shows a convoy of Russian trucks and tanks coming under fire as it drives down a country road.

Drone footage shows Ukraine‘s forces repeatedly targeting the Russian troops as the vehicles break formation and are driven into a nearby field to escape the assault.

Night-vision footage then shows two of the tanks, one of which was destroyed, abandoned in the middle of the road. Purported Ukrainian personnel are then seen operating near the surviving tank before driving off.

Russian forces are trying to break through defensive lines there, Syrskyi said on the messaging app Telegram, adding, “Chasiv Yar remains under our control, all enemy attempts to break through to the settlement have failed.”

Near Avdiivka, another city in the Donetsk region held by the Russians, the fiercest battles were occurring in Pervomaiskyi and Vodyanyi, according to the official.
